This Wayfair tip can save you hours of time after your next purchase

Buying furniture is something that has always been a bit of a pain for many people. Sellers can be pushy and buying online means you can’t see the pieces in person. On top of all that, “ready-to-assemble” furniture ranges from frustrating to time-consuming, or – if you choose to pay for assembly – expensive. But why settle for that aggravation or expense when you can just buy fully assembled furniture?

Luckily, a single toggle on Wayfair’s site can filter through all of its pre-assembled furniture for you — and it’s easy to activate. For those who don’t know Wayfair, it’s an online retailer that sells just about everything you need for a home, from mattresses to desks, dining tables, closet organizers and everything in between. Items come in all shapes, sizes, and color options, which means there are a ton of listings to browse to find the best one for your home.

When searching, you can narrow down your results a bit and see only those that are assembled. Once you get to the section you’re looking for – for example, living room furniture – here’s what you’ll need to do to find pieces that will come already assembled.

How to filter assembled products only (on desktop)

1. Go to Wayfair.com and Navigate to the section of the site for the furniture or accessories that interest you.

2. Click on Show more filters on the left side of the screen.

3. Click on Characteristics.

4. Scroll down and select Assembled.

The results that load on the right side of the screen will now be any that are delivered to your home assembled. For example, here are all coffee tables available to be shipped assembled.

How to filter assembled products only on mobile

For mobile, things are a little different. Here’s how to do it when you’re away from your computer. (These instructions are for phone-based browsers; the Wayfair app is similar.)

1. Go to Wayfair.com and navigate to the section of the site for the furniture or accessories that interest you.

2. Press the Sort and filter button at the top of the page.

3. Scroll to Characteristics and press it.

4. In the resulting list, scroll down and check the box Assembled box.

5. Click on Show results.

Just like on the desktop version of the site, the screen will now load all assembled products for you to browse. (Here are the results for assembled bedside tables.) Keep in mind that this selection will not match what was loaded first on the page, as the ones you have to put together yourself will no longer be visible. It should be noted that this can cause issues depending on where you live, as the boxes will be much larger.
